- As of Feb 23, 2021, a total of 6,540 first doses have been delivered to the Summit County Health Department (SCHD). Of those, there have been 5,150 administered. The remaining 1,390 first doses will be administered within 7 days of delivery.
- All first doses received are administered within 7 days of delivery. There are currently 3,100 future appointments scheduled.
- As of Feb 23rd, 2021, an additional 5,378 doses (3,016-1st doses and 2,362- 2nd doses combined) have been given to people living in Summit County by providers other than the SCHD. These include the Intermountain Park City Hospital and local health departments/hospitals in other counties.
- More people living in Summit County have received vaccines in other jurisdictions than the number of persons not living in Summit County that have received their vaccines here.
- On Jan. 29, 2021, Summit County closed enrollment for Phase 1 groups to focus resources exclusively on the 70+ population. These persons will again be eligible for vaccination in Summit County as we move into vaccinating the general population and/or when vaccines become more available.
- Previously, second doses had been provided by Intermountain Park City Hospital. Administration of second doses will be shifted back to SCHD starting March 1st, 2021. A total of 2,660 second doses have been received. Those doses are, at times, not administered within 7 days if they are received more than 7 days before the 28-day threshold for second dose.
- Among the 13 Utah Health Districts, Summit County is second highest for the number of vaccines given per capita. We are only limited by the number of vaccines we receive.
- Census data indicate there are an estimated 3,300 individuals living in Summit County who are 70 or older. By the end of day Feb 26, we estimate over 80% of these individuals will have received their first dose.
- Appointments have been opened to all individuals aged 65-69 and invitations to schedule those appointments have been sent.
Based on the approximate average of 700 doses we currently receive each week from the state:
- Those 70+ should all have an opportunity to receive their first dose by early March. We also estimate those aged 65-69 should be able to receive their first dose by the end of March.
